We are Pam and Steve Gresty, a husband and wife team and our family business at Cwrtau Bach began as a grower of greenhouse produce. In 2007, Steve began designing and building a steel and timber frame greenhouse bigger than our house. About 18months later we were ready to begin planting. We enlisted the help of friends with horticultural knowledge to get us going in the right direction, recommending gardening methods, soil improvements, and time management techniques. In 2009, we added a 90-foot polytunnel to the business for a total greenhouse growing space around 5,000 square feet. Needless to say, it has been a massive learning curve, fighting against pests and disease and weather.
As time passed, we recognised like many other rural business owners that we needed to diversify. So we started to turn our homegrown produce into products that reflected our background and tastes. With our numerous tomato and chile varieties we developed sauces and preserves with a nod to Mexico, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. These new products proved to be a hit so we carried on creating new flavours and expanding again our range to include fresh dips and ready-made superfood salads.
Unfortunately, due to health issues, the growing side of the business has been reduced significantly. However, providing fresh and flavour-packed, high-quality, healthy artisan foods continues to be our mission.
As proprietors of Cwrtau Bach Deli Foods, our unique background brings a special element to the business. Steve hails originally from North Wales but moved to the USA as a young lad and Pam was born and bred in the suburbs of Washington, DC. With our exposure to a wide range of ethnic and local cuisine and our passion for food, we aim to bring different flavours of the world to our culinary creations.
